Chronic tension Type Headache as defined by the International headache society (IHS).
Minimum age
18 Years

Known cause of symptoms such as acute sinusitis, eyesight or ear problems,
Current diagnosis of cancer
Acute infections including viral illness
Previous spinal/brain surgery
Pregnancy

Summary
Brief summary
Chronic tension type headaches are likely to be made worse by stress chemicals adrenaline released by the sympathetic nervous system. Manipulating the sympathetic nervous system using heat may reduce stress chemicals and reduce headache intensity and duration.
