Statistical methods / analysis
All data from the study will be analysed using the version of SPSS that is current at the time of analysis, with the alpha level set at 0.05. The data will be screened to identify and correct any data entry errors. This process will follow the recommended procedures described by Pallant (2011). The analysis will be using descriptive data and correlational analysis to determine the relationship between the dependent (e.g. CPR knowledge) and independent variables (e.g. sex, age, years of experience etc.). Different types of descriptive statistics will be used including numerical, percentage, measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode), measures of variability (range, SD, variance). Statistical tests to examine relationships between dependent and independent variables such as Chi-square and Mann-Whitney U tests will be utilised.
