The ANZCTR now automatically displays published trial results and simplifies the addition of trial documents such as unpublished protocols and statistical analysis plans.

These enhancements will offer a more comprehensive view of trials, regardless of whether their results are positive, negative, or inconclusive.

The safety and scientific validity of this study is the responsibility of the study sponsor and investigators. Listing a study does not mean it has been endorsed by the ANZCTR. Before participating in a study, talk to your health care provider and refer to this information for consumers

Outcomes
Primary outcome [1] 287401 0
Change in leg volume at 24 hours after compared to immediately prior to caesarean section, as measured by water displacement volumetry

24 hour period
Secondary outcome [1] 298068 0
Change in leg volume at 6 hours as measured by water displacement volumetry
Timepoint [1] 298068 0
6 hours
Secondary outcome [2] 298069 0
Comparison of potential causes of a change in leg swelling with the changes in leg swelling observed, by recording suspected influences of volume change such as parity, previous delivery experiences, fluid administered or taken, etc

Summary
Brief summary
We investigated the average change in volume of the legs in women undergoing elective caesarean section under spinal anaesthesia. We found there was no significant increase in the volume of the legs at 24 hours. There was no routine clinical intervention which was likely to alter whether a patients legs swelled or not.
