Respondents are invited to participate online by randomly being chosen from a general database and also polling booths will be set up in rural areas with staff inviting participants to participate, and teh staff will assist in filling out the questionnaire online (hoping to capture respondents without computer acess or not computer literate.
Question will ask about doctor diagnosis of food allergy, asthma, eczema and hay fever or symptoms (convincing) of a severe allergic (reaction) within th elast 12 months. Also current treatments for allergy

Anecdoatally doctors are aware of an increase in severe food allergies in NZ. The main aim of this study is to get some idea of the prevalence of allergeis in New Zealand in particular food allergy and the specific foods causing life-threatening allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) like peanut & nuts
